If you’ve been following along the 30-day challenge, you would know that although the posting portion of this experiment is complete; they are still a vast variety of social media measurement and evaluation variables that can only be accounted for upon post-challenge analysis. The variable discussed for this week’s continuation of testing acclaimed TikTok theories is focused around post time and post frequency.
Based on research conducted by Hootsuite and published by their team in a recent article, Hootsuite asserts the notion that reaching an expansive audience on TikTok is not just about when you post, it is also about how often you are posting. With that being said, Hootsuite extends the recommendation provided by TikTok that users should be posting 1-4 times a day. As recommended, I consistently posted 1-4 times a day over a 30-day period. In addition, Hootsuite also claims that based on experiments conducted by the organization that the best times to post on TikTok for maximum engagement are:
Tuesday 7:00 AM PST 10:00 AM EST
Thursday 10:00 AM 1:00 PM EST
Friday 5:00 AM 8:00 AM EST
The article goes on to mention that content posted earlier in the week (Monday-Wednesday) should ideally be posted earlier in the day and that content posted that in the week (Thursday-Sunday) should aim for upload in the afternoon and evening. With this being said, I found it most effective in my experiment to reflect upon collected data and see if my highest performing pieces of content posted during the challenge would mirror or reflect that of the Hootsuite recommendations.
For the purpose of this experiment, I defined my “highest performing pieces of content” by the pieces of content that received the highest view count throughout the 30-day period. Through this analysis, I was able to construct a chart illustrating the times I have repeatedly posted content at that specific time, and furthermore; in that repetition, the content posted at the indicated time consistently receive a higher view count and like count than content posted during other days and times throughout the week.

As you may find, there are similarities that exist between the Hootsuite recommended post times and the post times that I found upon analysis were high-performing times to post for my profile. For example, Hootsuite recommends posting 10:00 AM EST and my evaluation concluded that 10:30 AM EST was similarly a consistent time to post content in which the content upon analysis, received a higher view and like count in comparison to the pieces of content posted other times on Tuesday’s throughout the 30-day challenge.
Another claim I found to be relevant to my research analysis was the trend that indicates content posted earlier in the week should be posted earlier in the day and similarly later in the day for content posted later in the week.
While the social media measurement and evaluation of this 30-day experiment revealed telling insights, Hootsuite also indicates that while these are recommended posting times, a user attempting to expand their audience on TikTok should adopt a posting strategy that is unique to the individual user and tailored towards their target audience. With that being said, through my analysis, I was able to identify the top times to post content for my audience and furthermore create a tailored time-post strategy that is specific to the times that my content previously has consistently outperformed other pieces throughout the experience.
If you are looking to expand your TikTok audience, try out these recommended posting times and tips to see if these growth theories hold the power to launch your TikTok profile to a new level. One crucial component to growth on social media is community collaboration so I encourage you to share your experiences and put these theories to the test.
